Challenge:
Orchestrate event staging, design and execution of the annual Young Epidemiology Scholars Competition (YES), a program designed to encourage juniors and seniors in high school to pursue careers in epidemiology.

TEPG Impact:
TEPG has served as the event management firm for this program since 2003. The event brings 60 students from all across the country to Washington, DC to deliver a presentation on an epidemiological-based study. These presentations are the basis of which the students are judged over the course of four days to receive a scholarship. With 60 presentations occurring simultaneously during the first day, the overall logistics are fairly complex for the weekend.

TEPG specifically works on designing the staging for the entire event, which hosts approximately 200 people. This includes conceptualizing and executing event décor; soliciting and securing the hotel space; managing the sleeping room block; securing food and beverage arrangements; managing audiovisual requirements; coordinating ground transportation; orchestrating off-site dinner venues and décor; instituting a tour of Washington, DC, designing/executing special event amenities and providing on-site management over four days.
